International coffee day

International Coffee Day is a global celebration of coffee’s journey from the farm to your local shop – an opportunity to honour the women and men who grow and harvest the coffee we love.

On this occasion it has chosen a very special theme for this year’s celebrations: ‘Women in Coffee’. Women play as important a role in the whole of the coffee chain as men, from planting the seeds to processing to trading to brewing… and drinking it.

The idea for the 2018 campaign goes beyond paying homage to women! We want to highlight the need for equity and equality in the coffee sector, from bean to cup, and that can only be achieved by empowering women to the benefit of the whole coffee sector.

Last year’s celebrations were very successful with coffee events held in over 45 different countries across the globe. This year we want to do even better, so join in on this very important occasion to celebrate ‘Women in Coffee’! To learn more, please visit the ICO blog.
