The International Trade Centre (ITC) will unveil the fourth edition of The Coffee Guide on International Coffee Day. The virtual launch of the Coffee Guide will take place on 1 October from 16:00 to 17:00 (CET).

The Coffee Guide is the world’s most extensive, hands-on and neutral source of information on the international coffee trade. Many in the coffee industry consider it the go-to reference. It covers trade issues relevant to coffee growers, traders, exporters, transportation companies, certifiers, associations and authorities.

Coffee demand continues to rise – while farmers face volatile market prices, climate change uncertainties and changing consumer patterns. These trends come against a backdrop of rural youth leaving farming, gender inequality, lack of a living income for producers and human rights concerns.

This event draws from the extensive contributions from all parts of the industry to suggest how to build resilience and manage risk in changing times. It will share findings regarding trends that have emerged over the last decade, especially related to quality, digitalization, climate change and consumer preferences. Most importantly, it looks at how to address the distribution of power, profit and resources across the supply chain.

Speakers include heads of major coffee bodies as well as some of the principal authors.
